Who Can Span the Strongest?
A one-day structural engineering competition where New Jersey high school students design and construct basswood truss bridges using CA glue, which are then tested to failure under controlled loading.
The 2027 New Jersey GST Bridge Competition is inspired by collegiate steel bridge competitions and the creativity behind structural engineering. Our goal is to give New Jersey high school students a fast-paced and hands-on experience where they can work in teams to design, build, and test basswood truss bridges in a fun but challenging college-style setting. The GST Bridge Competition brings together students from across New Jersey to explore structural engineering in a fun, hands-on, and competitive setting, while also connecting with university students and host schools.
